Research Status of and Trends in 3D Geological Property Modeling Methods: A Review

Three-dimensional (3D) geological property modeling is used to quantitatively characterize various attributes in 3D space based on geostatistics with the help of computer visualization technology, and results are often stored grid data. The includes two main components, model generation interpolation. In this review article, existing methods systematically investigated, both traditional multiple-point geostatistical algorithms involved interpolation comprehensively analyzed. It shown that considering numerical simulation oil reservoirs, orthogonal hexahedral remains most suitable for simulations petroleum exploration development. For aspect, phenomena nonstationary, simulate types reservoirs; development trends increasing constraints reducing limitation stationarity. Both have certain constraints, multiscale problem poses a challenge field. addition, deep-learning method new trend modeling.
